The City hall of Benaguasil hosted the presentation of the book “El agua en Benaguasil, un viaje en el tiempo” (Water in Benaguasil, a journey in time), realized to disseminate the activities performed in the framework of the E2STORMED project in the Spanish municipality.
The ceremony was attended by the mayor J. Joaquín Segarra and the council member Pedro Peris, who shared a table with the book’s authors Sara Perales, Ignacio Escuder and Jose F. Ballester Olmos y Anguís, both professors at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
During his speech, the project coordinator, Ignacio Escuder, said that the book presents main knowledge about ways to treat rain water and considered Benaguasil as an example of community that believes in innovation. For his part, Professor Olmos reported that this work tells about a farmer from Benaguasil, Uncle Vuiso, that tells the story of historic Benaguasil and its water, telling the landscape evolution, ancient agriculture and past efforts in water management.
The 140 pages book introduces the link of Benaguasil with water and the hydraulic solutions developed within E2STORMED to save rainwater. Sara Perales recommended to visit them through the route of the SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) that was created in Benaguasil.
