Research is one of the pillars of UPV, since it undertakes applied research projects jointly with national and international bodies and companies. Two UPV research institutes participate on E2STORMED project: the Research Institute on Water and Environmental Engineering (IIAMA) and the Institute for Energy Engineering (IIE).
RESEARCH INSTITUTE ON WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING (IIAMA):
The Research Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering was founded in 2001, as a research organization in the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). This institute has a wide experience acquired during the last 30 years in technical and scientific research in fields related to Water and the Environment.
INSTITUT FOR ENERGY ENGINEERING (UPV-IIE):
The Institute for Energy Engineering (IIE), as research institute of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) focuses in addressing in a multidisciplinary way the different areas involved in the Energy R&D, as well as performing strategic and evaluation studies on energy planning.
Concretely in E2STORMED, IIE-UPV will apply its expertise in Sustainable Energy Planning for Cities based on determining sustainable energy indicators for the different economic sectors, thus estimating the impact of energy efficiency measures and energy politics in a specific regional/local area.
